Eesti Meedia and Estonian Yachting Union sign cooperation agreement

July 15, 2016

Eesti Meedia and the Estonian Yachting Union signed a cooperation agreement to help boost coverage of high-level sailing events organized by the union in 2016. Eesti Meedia wants to be the Estonian Yachting Union's cooperation and media partner in various sailing events and competitions.

“Eesti Meedia's Postimees Group sees sailing as a promising and important field for Estonia as a maritime country that it wants to introduce more closely to its readers. Cooperation has shown that covering sailing events and offering live broadcasts of competitions provides our viewers with thrills as sailing is such a spectacular and interesting sport. Looking ahead into the future, people can “read” a video on sailing,” said Sven Nuutmann, CEO of Eesti Meedia.
“The Estonian Yachting Union values cooperation with Eesti Meedia. Promotion of sailing helps develop the sport in Estonia; we will shine more light on our existing partners and introduce the world of sailing to the Estonian public with the help of Postimees Group. Estonia has longstanding experience in offshore sailing and Olympic sailing,” said Egon Elstein, President of the Estonian Yachting Union.

This year, Postimees online will cover such sailing events as stages of the Estonian Sailing Championship from spring to fall, Estonia and Finland offshore championship as part of the Baltic Offshore Week 2016, events of the A. Le Coq 59th Moonsund Regatta, the Tallinn Race regatta, as well as the Zoom8 world championships in Kuressaare.

The cooperation agreement was signed on July 13 in the Port of Kärdla that serves as a stop between stages of Estonia's oldest and largest sailing regatta – A. Le Coq 59th Moonsund Regatta, and that hosted the Postimees Kärdla Näkimadala regatta.
